“Chu Wei’s passion for math, alongside the wealth of knowledge about the subject made it possible to do so as he used unique ways to explain certain concepts and ideas.”
Chu Wei was my H2 maths tutor from the start of J1 to A levels. Despite having gotten A2 for both my A and E maths for O levels, I was still struggling with certain fundamental concepts of mathematics. Chu Wei was a tutor who made learning math simple – he explained difficult concepts in simplified manners, making concepts much easier to grasp. He made sure that students got their fundamentals right, are able to solve standard level questions first, before pushing on to higher order questions. The tutorials were definitely challenging, and there were definitely questions which I struggled to solve. However, these challenging questions had a purpose – they were adapted from the past A levels higher order questions, and aimed to prep us to be able to master the harder questions A level throws at us. Beyond being a highly professional and helpful tutor, Chu Wei is also a friend who will never fail to connect with us, understand our difficulties and help us out whenever we struggle. He often stays back for long periods after class, even though it was late at night, just to ensure that students could understand how to solve questions they were unsure in. Joining AO studies means having a slew of welfare too! Besides the free drinks, snacks and hot towels in class, AO studies has a lounge just for its students to self-study. During my A level period, it was really beneficial to have a private space, away from the stresses of the crowded library, to focus and concentrate on my studies. AO studies and Chu Wei definitely had a big part to play in my A for H2 maths, and I highly recommend AO studies for those seeking to improve in O and A level math and science!

“Chu Wei’s passion for math, alongside the wealth of knowledge about the subject made it possible to do so as he used unique ways to explain certain concepts and ideas.”
During my J2 days, I was really struggling with math. Although my fundamentals were there, my lack of fluency and abundance of careless mistakes meant that I was consistently getting S/U for my exams, even all the way up to prelims! That was when my friend recommended AO Studies to me, and encouraged me to sign up for Chu Wei’s 2 month revision course before A levels.
As I went through the programme, I discovered that math was really not as difficult as it seemed because Chu Wei was able to break down what complex topics into small chunks of information. His passion for math, alongside the wealth of knowledge about the subject made it possible to do so as he used unique ways to explain certain concepts and ideas (like small angle approximation). From doing his self-curated, uber-challenging tutorials (especially the DE one), I learnt how to approach and solve topics in a more methodical and straightforward way. Moreover, Chu Wei held mini timed practices where getting the answer(s) correct and within the time meant we could “spin the wheel” for q useful prizes (like COLD HARD CASH)!! Apart from the rewards, I think the more valuable outcome was that I could improve both my speed and accuracy in ALL math topics, especially the ones that I struggled with the most. In fact, I could see an almost immediate improvement when I did prelim questions afterwards. In addition, Chu Wei will always spend time with us after class if we had extra questions to ask him or if we wanted to clarify any doubts that arose during lesson time, and he will take the time to make sure that we fully understand his explanations!
Besides the math tuition itself, the welfare is AWESOME!! During the 5 min break in the middle of lesson, Chu Wei will give us hot towels, hot tea AND let us choose from a whole array of snacks/cold drinks to refresh ourselves and rest before the next half of the lesson. Additionally, we have free access to the lounge at any time and at any day (with EXCELLENT wifi), which is right beside the tuition centre. As a person who struggles to study at home, this lounge was a boon for me as I could study in a comfortable area without the need to worry about anyone kicking me out/timeslots in cafes or libraries (due to covid restrictions). In fact, it became my second home during the A levels study break and the exam period. I have went there almost every day, from morning till night, revising and studying for As. This helped me to be more focused, motivated and productive during this key revision period.
Lastly, I want to thank Chu Wei for being not only a math teacher, but also a friend and mentor to myself and his students. He always does his best to help us both academically and mentally, giving us motivation through his words and actions. He is always there to help make life that bit more easier during this stressful period, be it through the spontaneous bubble tea treats, the printing hundreds of pages of past year prelim papers (yes he really did that for me foc), or just popping by the lounge occasionally to check on us.
All these things really helped me to feel more at ease during the As period, and because of Chu Wei, I was able to improve 4 grades from my prelims! More than the result itself, I feel that Chu Wei was instrumental in helping me enjoy the process of learning math and has made me love the subject! Thank you Chu Wei :”)

“Personally, Chu Wei was not just a tuition teacher, but also a pillar of support that I could count on in times of need, emotionally and academically.”
Looking back at my short time I had studying at Chu Wei’s tuition centre, I could tell that he really has a passion (maybe a bit too much) for maths and equalling that is his passion for teaching the subject as well. Personally, Chu Wei not only helped me in math, but in life as well. He taught me how to plan my schedule properly, give me wake up calls when necessary, as the remaining time I had left to A levels were shrinking to zero. He taught me how to better my math workings to ensure that I score the marks. He taught me how someone could put in so much of time and effort in each and every one of his students so that they can achieve their wanted grades. Personally, he was not just a tuition teacher, but also a pillar of support that I could count on in times of need, emotionally and academically.
My personal story aside, I can safely say that they way he teaches us is definitely not just mollycoddle us and give us answers for free. Rather, he teaches each and every concept step by step, guiding us through that scary forest aka maths, helping us to understand why this step is done this way or why must you do that step first before the other. And even then, he still does not stop here. If he found a way to care for his students through academics, he will also find a way to better their welfare.
Throughout his classes, he has never failed to provide us with breaks that are filled with snacks on a portable tray, drinks in the refrigerators and even hot towels to refresh ourselves before we begin the second half of the lesson. I also vividly remember him continuously finding more ways to improve our welfare by adding on snacks that were more wanted by his students for example, tea, oreo and etc. If he was serving at a restaurant, he’d probably be mistaken for a waiter since he loves acting it out in class a lot. In addition to all that, he also has his own self made spin the wheel and mystery box with different prizes to be won (not gonna say its contents for the element of surprise) which are honestly helpful for us students who wants to cut down/ earn money. And not forgetting his newest addition, the lounge. An area beside the classroom where it acts as a study area for students to study in when they have no where else to study/cannot study at home like me. Personally, that lounge became my second home during my journey to A’s and during covid times as I found it hard to even find places outside to study with my friends. So honestly, im eternally grateful for him providing us with that lounge for us to study, not to mention, free wifi. That too is a lifesaver on its own as we can use it for anything and its not those public wifi where it is unprotected or anything. But your typical home wifi which is good. Overall, thank you for always being my pillar of support during this tough journey known as A levels.

“Chu Wei constantly seeks his students’ feedback on his lessons and lesson materials so as to better tweak and cater to his students’ learning needs and pace.”
Very thankful to have found out and joined Chu Wei’s math class in the middle of J1. At that point i found JC math really challenging even though it was only the beginning. It wasn’t until joining his class that i had clarity on the subject and true understanding. I really appreciated the fact that Chu Wei was always more than willing to help his students gain understanding rather than just spoon feeding answers. He never rushed his classes just to achieve the goals of that class, but instead ensured everyone was on the right track.
Chu Wei is also a really dedicated teacher. He constantly seeks his students’ feedback on his lessons and lesson materials so as to better tweak and cater to his students’ learning needs and pace. Chu Wei continues to push his students to their highest potential. Thanks to him, i was able to achieve an A for math at my preliminary examinations.
What sets him apart from other tuition teachers is that he constantly produces new higher order level thinking questions for his students to stretch them. His questions were created by him and were indeed different from the normal tutorial questions we did in school. It really helped me in answering novel questions during examinations.
Not only does Chu Wei look out for his students academics wise, he also deeply cares about his students’ welfare. Concerned that his students would be hungry during his lessons, he provides snacks and drinks to help his students stay focused. He understands the stress and struggle of being a JC student and would often engage in conversation with us like a friend to find out if we are alright. Understanding that sometimes students may be demoralised, he always implements new ideas such as a reward system to spur students on.
Chu Wei’s lessons were always one i could look forward too. No matter how tired and stressed his students are, he always manages to bring joy and laughter to the classroom. Overall, Chu Wei has definitely made learning a whole lot more enjoyable and i would definitely recommend going to him for math tuition classes!

“Chu Wei is an extremely patient and helpful teacher and is always going the extra mile to ensure his students can properly grasp the complex math concepts.”
I’m really grateful to have joined Chu Wei’s math class in J1, he is an extremely patient and helpful teacher and is always going the extra mile to ensure his students can properly grasp the complex math concepts.
He’s always finding new and innovative ways to motivate and push his students to work harder, and I really appreciate how he always makes time to answer any queries we have before or after class. He is someone who is very friendly which makes it very easy to approach him and ask for help to clarify any doubts. I also really appreciate the effort that Chu Wei puts in when crafting absurdly difficult math questions, it really pushes you to think and prepares you well for the questions that appear during the A levels. Thank you sir and thanks for always keeping the fridge well stocked.

“the main reason why I’d recommend AO Studies to everyone out there is because Chu Wei built my confidence from ground up in the subject by giving me the hardest questions from each topic to do.”
Ever since Sec 4, I had panic attacks during Math papers in an exam setting. I had troubles managing my time and even after tonnes of practice, I often felt like during exams I encountered question types that I’ve never seen before. I barely got A for Math in JC Preliminary Exams and was lacking confidence. I did not want to risk it for A’ levels so upon my friend’s recommendation I joined AO Studies.
The first thing that I noticed at AO studies was the conducive learning environment and the fact that Chu Wei, the tuition teacher, is so friendly and approachable .My favourite thing about Chu Wei is that he goes above and beyond and caters to your specific needs and identifies your individual weaknesses. He is very patient and teaches multiple methods to problem solving. Knowing that our attention spans are short, he holds breaks in between lessons where he passes you a warm towel and snacks. This really kept me going. But the main reason why I’d recommend AO Studies to everyone out there is because Chu Wei built my confidence from ground up in the subject by giving me the hardest questions from each topic to do. Instead of spending hours doing all the practice questions in revision papers, doing the hand-picked set of questions given by Chu Wei will prepare you for any exam in a very short period of time. If you can solve it, then it really boosts your confidence and if you are unable to do it, then he will teach you the method in a way that you can easily remember it. Either way, it’s a win-win and an excellent time-saver. If you feel like you are lagging behind in school and all your work is snowballing then this is the place to go to catch up on your Math.
I had a friend who is always 3 chapters behind the rest of the class for Math. After going to Chu Wei’s lessons, she was 2 chapters ahead in no time and she got straight As. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you, Chu Wei!

“Before, when I was with another tuition centre, I always believed that math questions were always fixed and standard and thus I constantly adopted fixed templates of certain formulas to answer the question. However, through Chu Wei’s lessons, I managed to break out of the rigid mindset I always used when answering math questions as he helped me to realise that math questions required flexibility when applying different kind of concepts.”
Throughout JC, I had a constant struggle with math. My math grades kept stagnating, often remaining at D. However, as I progressed from JC1 to JC2, my math grades kept getting worse, dropping from a D to a U. It was only when I received my first U in a continual assessment that I decided to join Chu Wei’s tuition through my friend’s recommendation. Despite having little understanding of mathematic concepts, Chu Wei always guided me patiently, constantly encouraging me to understand the mathematical process and concepts that is being tested for each and every question. In all of his classes, he constantly emphasised the importance of understanding the process of answering the question and dissuaded us from copying the answer blindly, ensuring that everyone clearly understood the steps he has gone through. Chu Wei put in great efforts to create questions that he incorporated in both practices and tests. These questions allowed us to push ourselves to our limits to exercise critical thinking and think of solutions endlessly. Before, when I was with another tuition centre, I always believed that math questions were always fixed and standard and thus I constantly adopted fixed templates of certain formulas to answer the question. However, through Chu Wei’s lessons, I managed to break out of the rigid mindset I always used when answering math questions as he helped me to realise that math questions required flexibility when applying different kind of concepts.
In many instances, Chu wei has shown to be a compassionate and patient tutor. Knowing how busy JC students can be and how stressed out we are near exams, he would always extend his help readily by staying back for hours after class just to help clarify our doubts and conducting extra lessons to strengthen our understanding of different math chapters such as vectors which is by far, one of the most difficult topics in math. In particular, I struggled with understanding vectors, often getting confused when he went through vector questions. Upon knowing about this struggle, Chu Wei offered to teach me vectors again separately through personalised 1-on-1 lessons online. These personalised lessons helped me immensely, allowing me to understand the concepts in vectors far better. Also, during his group lessons on the topic of vectors, Chu Wei showed great consideration by constantly checking on my work, pointing out my mistakes and errors and explaining the correct method patiently. Chu Wei constantly goes out of his way to offer help to us, asking us to bring our exam papers for review to further understand where our greatest weakness in math lies and the common errors we repeat in the exams.
Other than helping his students academically, Chu Wei has helped us to develop values such as resilience. In the past, I used to give up on mathematic questions immediately if I could not get the answer. However, Chu Wei’s encouragement allowed us to constantly push ourselves and to not give up easily and be discouraged regardless of how difficult the math questions are. He has shown to be a kind and caring teacher, showing great concern over our well-being, often asking , “How are you doing today?” and having personal talks with us when we look stressed. Moreover, he always ensures that we do not tire and stress ourselves too much by providing drinks, refreshments and a 5 min break during lessons to refresh and energise ourselves. Unlike many tutors that I’ve had, Chu Wei is a friendly and warm friend who always lends a helping hand, placing great faith and belief in our potential and showing great patience by guiding us. With his guidance, I was able to score a B for my H2 math, a grade I deemed impossible to achieve with the U’s I scored for math in the early semester of year 2. Thank you for being such an amazing tutor and friend Chu Wei.

“Throughout JC, my math grades continued to fluctuate. It was demoralising at times, but I was able to carry on with Chu Wei’s strong support and motivation.”
I first was under Chu Wei’s tutelage in Secondary 4, as part of a long-overdue attempt to salvage my grades for the O’ Levels. Thankfully, he helped me jump from a C5 to an A1. Knowing I was heading to a JC, he suggested continuing classes with him before the academic year even started as a head start. However, I figured I could handle things on my own. Within six months of leaving his centre, I was back again after realising the stresses of H2 JC math.
I received a C grade during my first math exam in JC and was determined to improve it. Throughout JC, my math grades continued to fluctuate. It was demoralising at times, but I was able to carry on with Chu Wei’s strong support and motivation. He explained and re-explained math concepts to me which I struggled to fully understand and helped me to grasp every single topic, even the ones I gave up on.
Chu Wei always pushed us to be our best and to persevere through his tough-love strategies. Teary eyes were not uncommon before, during and/or even after class, but we knew that him pushing us was really for our benefit. That being said, he was always very kind and patient & any criticism was purely constructive and helpful. Even as my grades did not always reflect the effort I thought I put in, he encouraged me continuously to try my best and work harder to achieve my goals.
Even during the Circuit Breaker period in 2020 when we could not go down to the centre for physical classes, Chu Wei wasted no time to ensure that his at-home set-up could mimic classes as closely as possible to ensure that we were not short-changed in our learning experience. Taking a national exam during the pandemic was stressful enough, and Chu Wei understood that and took every method possible to ease this stress. He was there 24/7 to answer my math questions and sent me the workings to all the questions I had. He also explained to me why my method wasn’t correct or why it wasn’t the most efficient way. This was one of the many things that proved to me that Chu Wei cares more about getting you the grades and about your well being than anything else.
If his constant hard work and over-the-top efforts for his students isn’t enough to convince you to join this centre over others, he also has world-class service that I have never experienced in any other centre. Your tuition fee includes free-flow snacks, cold drinks, mid-class hot towel service to wake you up and the occasional bubble tea treats.
I truly think that joining Chu Wei’s centre is something you will enjoy and won’t regret, and it will really help you gain a teacher and a friend while improving your grades.

“Academics aside, Chu Wei imparted so many values into each and every one of us. He taught us that there is so much more to life than grades and exams, that our potential was not determined by our transcripts, that value should be placed not on the end product but on the effort and commitment given to get there.”
Walking into AO studies 4 years ago, I would never have imagined how big of a role it would have played in my teenage years. Before joining Chu Wei for JC Math, I was struggling to keep on par with my school mates to say the least. I could not comprehend the new content and concepts being thrown my way and made the decision to join his JC Math classes. I’d say that that was one of the best decisions I could have made.
Every one of his lessons was thoughtfully crafted and questions were curated and planned to teach us different concepts, and values, each lesson. His tutorials, granted were freakishly challenging, often making us question if it was just to demoralize us, but looking back now, I’m grateful he exposed us to such questions. It taught me the value of precision, care and that no matter how impossible it may seem, it was always within us to be able to solve what was thrown our way. We just had to stretch ourselves a little extra – something most of us were not willing to do. But Chu Wei, being ever so creative and innovative, came up with ways to always fuel us to keep going when we felt like giving up when a tutorial seemed too difficult. His “spin the wheel segment”, something so simple yet it made us determined to solve the question. Before we knew it, we were screaming out answers across the class to a question that initially seemed outlandish.
Chu Wei had such a deep understanding for Math that he so easily transferred to his students. I genuinely feel that this is a testament to the type of teacher that he is. Having profound knowledge is one thing but to be able to share that with each and every individual was a whole different ball game. Chu Wei took the effort to understand his student and learn what teaching methods worked best for them and tailor his solutions to suit each and every one of us. He would never proceed with a question or let any one of us leave the classroom still unsure of what was covered. He was determined to help us grasp concepts and making sure we were able to apply them effectively when the situation called for it. He never made any one of us feel afraid of judgement for not understanding concepts. He had created such a safe space that made us all feel comfortable around each other to voice our doubts and opinions – something I’m extremely grateful for.
Teacher aside, Chu Wei was also very much a friend to all of us. He was always present, checking up on not only our progress in Math, but how we were coping in general, especially during the A level period. He would always make it clear that he was just a text away did we ever need to talk when we were stressed. Chu Wei also helped me navigate through A levels when I felt the pressure overwhelming me and I will not be able to put into words how thankful I am. He would take time out of his schedule to constantly check in with me on how I was doing, to remind me that I was going to be okay and that exams were not the end point. To an angsty teen, hearing this coming from an adult who I respected, helped to ease a lot of my worries.
Joining Chu Wei for secondary school and JC Math tuition definitely helped me to achieve the grades that I did. Without his help, I would have still been struggling with Math and passing would have been unfathomable. Academics aside, Chu Wei imparted so many values into each and every one of us. He taught us that there is so much more to life than grades and exams, that our potential was not determined by our transcripts, that value should be placed not on the end product but on the effort and commitment given to get there. Walking into AO Studies 4 years ago, Sec 3 me never would have thought that a tuition teacher would have impacted me in the ways that Chu Wei has, but for that, I’ll always be incredibly thankful to him.

“Chu Wei takes his time with each student to go through all their problems’ “
About 2 to 3 months before my A levels i felt like the knowledge I had was insufficient for me to do well for my A levels and i was looking for a tuition center that would help me clarify my doubts as well as strengthen my skills to allow me to excel in my exams. Luckily i found this tuition center and i will forever be grateful to Mr. Lim for helping me do well for my exams. He takes his time with each student to go through all their problems as well as providing us with a conducive learning environment where we would be able to focus on our studies. His method of teaching allows us to absorb all the necessary information as well as extra bits and pieces that will help us in more ways than just in our studies.

“Learning here was an experience that made me go ‘wow, tuition centres are this good to spend time at?’ “
Before joining AOstudies, I was very worried for my math because I was always getting borderline Cs and Ds and even got U before, and I thought ever breaking past these grades would be impossible. My friend recommended me to join and I did because she has always strongly vouched for this tuition’s ability to make miracles happen:) I came for the crash course before A Levels, and my grade got miraculously pushed up so that I could get a B for A Levels… within 1 month!!
His classes are made to suit the pace of each student, and even if you’re very confused he will patiently stay back to explain everything until you understand. The questions he gives are very challenging and will train you intensely for answering A Level qns. He’s not only a good teacher, but also an understanding, friendly and humorous person who will make learning fun! Learning here was an experience that made me go ‘wow, tuition centres are this good to spend time at?’ Thank you chuwei for all your help!!

“In his class, he will always provide us with a hot towel to let us freshen ourselves up and there are also FREE snacks provided to make sure that we are not hungry!“
Shortly after joining JC, I went back to AO studies for math tuition as i feel that AO studies is the only tuition centre that is able to help me to the fullest for math since math has always been my weakest subject. Chu Wei has been really helpful as he would let me go to tuition earlier or stay back after class to go through questions that i had difficulty understanding in school. He is also very patient in explaining to us repeatedly when we had difficulty understanding the solutions. His mock tests are also insanely hard!!! but just because of his insanely hard mock tests, we were more prepared when dealing with harder questions in exams. In his class, he will always provide us with a hot towel to let us freshen ourselves up and there are also FREE snacks provided to make sure that we are not hungry! During the break before As, Chu Wei is also v helpful as he would advise us on what we shld do to be more mentally and physically prepared for As. In conclusion, it is really hard to find a teacher that is willing to go all the way to help me with my studies and i’m glad that i found one! Thank you Chu Wei!

“He always makes sure to explain clearly the underlying concepts and fundamentals behind each topic, using various drawings, analogies and explanations until everyone in the class understands it.“
“He’s a whole package deal of teacher, mentor and personal cheerleader hitting you all at once.“
Choosing to attend tuition classes with Chu Wei is like unsuspectedly walking into a FairPrice Xtra megastore, when all you expected was an ordinary mama shop. He’s a whole package deal of teacher, mentor and personal cheerleader hitting you all at once. Sure, he makes sure to teach you the relevant syllabus, and yes, he’s patient and concise when he’s teaching. In fact, he makes sure to explain each math question using various diagrams and methods, until everyone in the class understands it.

“Chu Wei believes that every student is capable of achieving good grades in Maths. He encourages and pushes his students to achieve their goals“
Math has always been a struggle for me since J1. After joining Chu Wei’s class in J2, I’m able to have a clearer understanding of the math concepts and the classroom practices have allowed me to grasp the concepts better. Chu Wei is a dedicated and caring teacher. He is passionate about maths and committed to bring out the best out of his students. He went extra miles to care and help his students in everywhere he could. Chu Wei believes that every student is capable of achieving good grades in Maths. He encourages and pushes his students to achieve their goals. As a math teacher, he makes sure that he is up to date with the current syllabus and adjusts his lessons to meet the demand of the new syllabus. In his maths lessons, students are exposed to questions that are not only challenging but also out of the box.

“Chu Wei tailored many lessons that targeted essential questions in each chapter of H2 math, he highlighted key points we should remember for each chapter and provided extra papers for us to try out.”
“Chu Wei is also someone who clearly knows the education and examining system well, and accurately spots questions like a magician (including the actual A level questions).”
Chu Wei is a really dedicated teacher in many ways that I will be eternally grateful for. I was one of the students which joined late, about 2-3 months before my A levels, and I can say that this is one of the best decisions I’ve made. In class, he’s extremely knowledgeable pertaining to mathematics concepts and skills, and is really interactive in teaching us. His explanations are clear, precise and easy to understand. Outside of class, he puts in extra effort into getting to know students and imparting important life lessons for us. He takes his job seriously and diligently, coupled with his competence in teaching math, hence he will definitely be of great help to anybody who requires math tuition and is definitely one of the top choices around. He is highly qualified as a math instructor, having majored in math in university. He is also someone who clearly knows the education and examining system well, and accurately spots questions like a magician (including the actual A level questions). He is generous with his help, and will promptly respond to questions from students requiring help through whatsapp, and also in face-to-face, coming early before lessons start and staying back after lessons end, all to ensure students do well in their exams and in life. His tutorial is highly challenging and his standards and goals are high, which all goes to show how professional and capable he is.

“Chu Wei’s class is always full of laughter and joy, and you’ll grow to love math.”
If AO Studies were a delivery company, they will always 100% deliver promptly and leave you satisfied with their service. I have been under Chu Wei since Secondary 4, and he is by far the most dedicated teacher I know. He does not hesitate to give students extra consultation, and always reply to our questions ASAP. Besides being a great teacher, he is also a great friend. He gives good advice and is always willing to help even in other subjects unrelated to math. His class is always full of laughter and joy, and you’ll grow to love math. He supported me, like others, through this gruelling 2 years, even giving us rewards for our hard work. I also made many friends in his class which I am grateful for. Thank you Chu Wei for helping me achieve an A for math!

“Chu Wei was willing to take time off to go through past year papers with us despite that he was not obligated to.”
I was consistently performing poorly in my Maths with a C5 in my Amaths at ‘O’ Levels, I clearly remembered how I hated calculus and totally given up. However, I still went on to take H2 Maths in JC and unsurprising, I flunked my J1 CT. I got a U grade for my CT and that’s when I decided to join Chu Wei after I got introduced to him via word of mouth. His lessons certainly aren’t easy and the questions he challenged us to solve often left me dumbfounded. However, with the consistent drillings and practice, I can slowly see myself improving and taking a liking to Maths. His lessons are clear and precise as he thoroughly explains the concepts in ways that students can understand easily. Furthermore, Chu Wei, being a committed educator, is willing to stay back and provide additional consultations when necessary. I remembered underperforming for my Promos and MYE and Chu Wei was willing to take time off to go through past year papers with us despite that he was not obligated to. With his efforts, I managed to secure an A for my H2 Maths at ‘A’ Levels from the D I got in my prelims.

“yet when you feel all hope is lost, Chu Wei will make you feel that you can salvage any situation as long as you put your heart into it“
This is going to be a long testimonial because there’s so much to say about Chu Wei and his tuition! He goes out of his way to help his students, always sharing his experience, stories and giving the advice we need to hear. He may be straightforward and his words may be harsh but deep down, we all know that he only mean well for us. His tuition is filled with LOTS OF FUN! and LOTS OF PAIN. You can feel like SHIT in one moment, yet when you feel all hope is lost, chuwei will make you feel that you can salvage any situation as long as you put your heart into it. There’s many chances to practice questions and he will specifically choose questions that targets a certain concept/way to solve/ just to demonstrate the way to go about doing that kind of qns like the milk syrup and sugar example for differential equation… MIND BLOWN because i couldn’t visualise what was happening but he managed to break down the qn and made it SO SIMPLE.

I joined Chu Wei’s tuition as a private candidate through a friend’s recommendation, and to be honest I was pretty pessimistic about Math at first as it was my second attempt at the A levels. However, Chu Wei proved me wrong. His nightmarish and infuriating tutorials exposed me to a lot more different types of questions than normal school papers have and that helped to build my confidence when doing math. He stayed back after class to clear my doubts, replied my bombarding texts, answered my questions with patience and most importantly he made sure that I understood. He even went out of his way to help me with my university application, giving me guidance on the courses that I want to apply to. He is a very driven teacher and a friend who will encourage and motivate you, even though sometimes he can come off a bit harsh and his honest advice may be unpleasant to hear, but rest assured he means well. And you’ll get a slice of cake on your bday!!! Thank you Chu Wei 🙂

“Chu Wei also taught me that solving mathematics question is not just about finding the answer but most importantly is the understanding of how to get the answer.”
Mr Chu Wei is an extremely dedicated and determined tuition teacher. He helps you to improve by increasing your exposure to higher order thinking questions that are not usually covered by schools. After attending his tuition for two months, I was able to see significant improvement in my H2 math grade. During the school prelims, similar questions from his tutorial came out. As he had explained those concepts before, I managed to solve them with ease and thus achieving a decent grade for my prelims. Even after the prelims, he continued to conduct the mock tests to fully prepare us for the A levels. Topics such as permutations and combination are extremely hard for students to understand. However, he managed to simplify the topic and ensure that every student knew how to tackle the questions before letting us go home. He would also take some time to eat with us after/before lesson starts at a nearby coffee shop. This forge the friendship between us and therefore making it easier to communicate and ask questions when I was in doubt. When we have questions about certain topics on a weekend, he will also take some time to explain it to us over whatsapp. He also taught me that solving mathematics question is not just about finding the answer but most importantly is the understanding of how to get the answer. Therefore, I managed to achieve my dream grade in A-levels due to his help. Without his help, I do not think that I would be able to do it. Thanks, Chu Wei for helping me achieve my dream grade!! “Chu Wei is a tutor with both great knowledge and a big heart. He has been more than just a tutor to all of us.”
Whether you’re the kind of ‘a relatively doing well’ but can never score an ‘A’ student or a ‘weak in math’ student like I was, please take some time to read the long but honest review:
Chuwei is a tutor with both great knowledge and a big heart. As a teacher, he never fails to clear our doubts and explain basic mathematical concepts which are crucial in cultivating problem solving skills. He goes the extra mile to answer our questions out of class and even late nights. As an Arts student who has always struggled with math, Chuwei has consistently guided me since J1 and allow me to gain confidence.
His depth of knowledge of the subject and the syllabus has enabled him to quickly identify his students’ weaknesses and advise each of us individually on how we can improve. From failing math in the past, I’ve finally did well in A levels.
Honestly, it was never a smooth journey for me when it came to this daunting subject , and there are times where I face setbacks in examinations. Nonetheless, because of Chuwei, someone who believes in the best in every student, he gave me the encouragement I needed each time and allowed me to push through until the end. He has been more than just a tutor to all of us.
To parents or students reading, if you want a tutor who is dedicated, whose teaching is effective or a tutor who can give ur child maximum exposure (something all students really need in A level H2 mathematics unlike O levels), I believe Chuwei is the tutor you are looking for.
To students, no matter what tutor you’re going to eventually, please remember that math really requires you to PRACTISE and don’t be complacent. There are many ‘A’ students who eventually scored a ‘B’ just because they got lazy or are over confident. There are also those who used to fail but got an ‘A’ because they tried hard enough.

“Chu Wei often goes the extra miles to be a mentor even in life, giving his advices on anything under the sun without hesitation.”
Commitment – the coveted value that students and parents seek in tutors. Chu Wei possesses and holds on deeply to this value, which makes his service stands out from the rest. Definitely a top-notch tutor as reflected by his records of 100% distinction classes, his remarkable tuition service is highly recommended. Apart from the academic aspect, Chu Wei often goes the extra miles to be a mentor even in life, giving his advices on anything under the sun without hesitation. To be guided by such a driven and committed tutor, it is really a pleasure.

I had a great time at chuwei’s tuition lessons studying for my A levels. it was painful sometimes no doubt, with the back to back tuition lessons and my repeated careless mistakes. But with Chuwei’s engaging and spontaneous feedback on our performance, assessing us individually, he made sure we knew where we went wrong.
For those looking out for effective math tuition, i strongly recommend chuwei as your tuition teacher. He’s not a sadistic math teacher who nick-picks your mistakes and leaves you feeling discouraged, but one who does everything for your good.
Thanks chuwei:)

I was a JC1 student when Chuwei convinced me to attend his H2 Math tuition classes. I remembered clearly how he was certain that the A level syllabus was a much different ball game from the O level syllabus and he was right. Initially I was confident that I was able to get past A levels Math through self-study but after receiving my first test result, I immediately signed up for Chuwei’s Math tuition classes. As I was a student of Chuwei during O levels which helped improve my results from F9 to A1 for E math and F9 to B3 for A math, I was certain his tuition would benefit me once again. It proved to be true as I attained an A for my A levels after going through Chuwei’s intensive tuition, drilling of difficult questions over and over again which made me find an interest in Math studies which I would partake for University. I definitely would recommend anyone to attend his tuition, the friendly environment and the dedicated teacher will definitely benefit in the growth in academics.

Many thanks to Chu Wei’s doggedness in pushing me to maximise my potential (and beyond!). I consistently scored Us during my time in JC and eventually scored an A for JC. Chu Wei is meticulous and relentless when it comes to his students, so you will not have to worry about not getting your money’s worth! He also prepares his own unique Math questions which effectively forces us to internalize and apply the Math concepts taught.

“Chu Wei’s tuition provides a very personalised experience whereby, he will point out each of our mistakes and ensure that we will not repeat it in our exams or future practices.”
I failed my math so badly and consistently that I decided to join my friends in Chu Wei’s classes in JC year 2. Despite being weak in my foundation and unfamiliar with my JC year 1 syllabus, he was very patient towards helping me to understand the concepts. During his class, he will always ensure that everyone understands the question before moving on. Chu Wei’s practices and in-class tests always challenge the mathematical concepts and encourage critical thinking, this was very helpful in helping me develop a more flexible mindset and thus, application of concepts are made easier for me.
I joined Chuwei’s tuition in my J2 year as i have heard of him from words of mouth from my friend and how they have benefited from his tuition, i was skeptical at first because i believed that with much practice, i would be able to conquer math myself, but never did i understood the difficulty of college math until i reach J2. i managed to pass promos with a stroke of luck with totally no understanding of J1’s topic in J2 and struggled badly , That was when i decided to enroll in his tuition to give myself a chance to do well in math. From his torturous and monstrous self-made tutorial question, i had alot of trouble doing it, but he took the extra mile and explain preciously to me with the basic understanding of math. That was when i improve alot from being a C-D student to getting my A in Alevel. Math does not only required practice, it requires lots of patience and pain in doing challenging question to be able to challenge yourself with every tricky and new question you face. Thanks alot ChuWei for your help !

“Chu Wei is dedicated in guiding us and never stopped encouraging and motivating us by telling us that we are capable of scoring A.”
During my time in J1, I had difficulties understanding Math problems and as a result, my grades fell much below what I expected. I could still remember failing math examinations then. It was during the mid of J1 when my friend introduced me to this tuition class. During a short period of 2-3 months, my results took a great turn. Eventually, I managed to achieve an A in my promos and my A Levels MathExam. I credit this achievement mostly to my math tutor, Chu Wei. He is dedicated in guiding us and never stopped encouraging and motivating us by telling us that we are capable of scoring A. He takes great effort in making his math questions fun to do despite being challenging. This enabled me not only to take an interest in math, but also to be able to cope with difficult questions with ease. All in all, I am glad to have him as my tutor and as a friend. Thank You Chu Wei!

“Honestly, without Chu Wei, I would be nowhere near to where I am today.”
Lim Chu Wei has been my math tutor ever since I was secondary 2 to J2. He has never failed to support me and helped me obtain double distinctions for EMath and AMath during O Levels and an A for math during A Levels. Chuwei is a tutor that really cares about the welfare of his students and never failed to be there when I needed help in my studies and even for any other issues. He gave me the motivation to study during my A Levels and allowed me to score a decent 82 Rank Points for my A Levels which allowed me to get accepted into the course I wanted in NUS. Honestly, without him, I would be nowhere near to where I am today. Thank you Chuwei for being a dedicated and awesome math tutor and the other teachers in AO studies that willingly assisted me in my other subjects when I approached them. God bless this tuition centre 🙂

“Chuwei is not just a tutor that guides our studies, but he is also a friend that cares and concern about our future.”
Chuwei is not just a tutor that guides our studies, but he is also a friend that cares and concern about our future. Though I was only under his guidance for a few months, but he helped me to achieve my personal best in H2 Mathematics. Whats more was that he also give us tips in other areas that is beyond his responsibility. He was happy (or even happier than us) for all of us that made it to our dream course in university. If anyone needs help in the academic (and maybe life) he is definitely someone to look for. I am glad that I was able to be taught by him during my toughest period of my JC life. Thank you so much Chuwei!

I joined AO studies during JC2 (in Sept). Before joining, I have been getting U for my H2 Math. After attending Chuwei’s tuition, my Math grades improve from an U to a C in the A Levels. The e-lectures uploaded after each lessons have allowed me to review what had been taught and the tough tutorials given have enabled me to tackle questions of higher difficultly. I would recommend AO studies.

“I have never failed any math paper after the guidance of Chu Wei, when in fact math was my most hated subject since primary school.”
AO Studies is a place with the most dedicated teachers. My awesome math tutor, Chu Wei just doesnt seem to leave his whatsapp conversations with us, endlessly solving our math questions even if it meant sacrificing his nights and midnights. Moreover, Chu Wei convicts to ensure his students would not leave lessons without learning anything, hence we see ourselves staying back completing his assignments most of the time.
Tuition can sometimes be a dreadful event, but strangely I love solving Chu Wei’s monstrous tutorial questions! For this meant i have already mastered my concepts and not be afraid of taking up any school exams and finally the “A” Levels. True enough, I am proud to say I have never failed any math paper after the guidance of Chu Wei, when in fact math was my most hated subject since primary school. I even scored distinction in my A Levels!!!
There are many more fun-loving moments during lessons which made me loved attending tuition classes compared to the dull lessons in school.
Such fantastic environment is hard to come by, I didn’t regret my choice.

Hi all. This is a dedication post to my math tuition teacher,Chu Wei, at AO studies. I was struggling in math for most of my secondary school life. Especially Amaths. I constantly failed my test in school . It was until the second year before I started his tuition. On the first week of signing up for his tuition I passed a test in A math class. I went from becoming an F9 student to being an A2 student for O’s subsequently. I continued tuition for my life in JC. Math in JC is no mean feat. But the self tailored questions by Chu Wei are on a whole new level of difficulty and it truly challenges me to tackle the seemingly difficult ones in school. I went from being a S student to being an A student in the A levels.Thank you Chu Wei.

Before attending AOstudies , my maths in school was always a borderline pass or mostly fails . This was due to the insufficient preparation that my school teachers provides us . However after attending AOstudies even if it was just once or twice a week , the preparation I got here was better than what I had received in school . Definitely pulled my grades up in both school’s tests and inner examinations and lastly achieved a splendid grade for my A levels . Thank you !
